Inside the Box v. Outside the Box

So for this quarter in art class, we were given the task of creating a series. So I created a series focusing on the contrasting environments of inside the box v. outside the box. PS. These should be viewed from bottom to top.

This scene represents living outside the box. It is like you have gone beyond the outer limits where anything is possible.

This scene is the mid ground. Where you are neither free, nor confined. In this environment, people tend to fall back into their original box. In the background there is a rocket that connects with the picture above.

This is the first stage. Inside the box. This is constrainment and containment. The boxes with darker windows are those unhappy in their box. The boxes with lighter windows are the people that are happy in their. In the background, in the sky, there are two feet belonging to the man in the picture above.

I entered these pieces into the Junior and Senior art show at my high school, I was awarded the Principal's Choice Award.

Design. Discover. Create.
